Fun, creativity, and challenge are all part of the extensive Summer Place enrichment program. Courses take place in the classrooms, art studios, computer labs, kitchen, television studio, and theaters of the University of Hartford. The schedule of courses is provided on the course worksheets. Please refer to the worksheet for the appropriate session when completing the registration form. All campers make their selections from the variety of courses offered in each of their two enrichment periods. Please note that some courses for fifth- through ninth-graders are offered as double-period classes, which last all afternoon.
Course descriptions follow and are listed alphabetically and according to grade levels. Note that with the exception of the Learning Zone, campers may not participate in the same enrichment course more than once, whether it is in the same session or in subsequent sessions attended.
Sports and recreational activities—along with arrival and dismissal—will take place at Watkinson School, located adjacent to the University. Watkinson offers Summer Place a modern sports center, expansive playing fields, fitness room, dance studio, and state-of-the-art amphitheater.
